I.C.R. vs. Deth Killers of Bushwick

Their creativity knows no limits...

It all started with two rival motorcycle clubs, Innercity Raiders (I.C.R.) & Deth Killers. They were arch-nemeseses since before anyone from Bushwick or even Bed-Stuy was even born. Their brawls were the stuff of legend, and the Brooklyn neighborhood known as Bushwick suffered greatly. But then came the tragedies of 9/11 and suddenly everything changed . . .
On November 1, 2001, immediately following the Yankees miracle comeback in Game 4 of the World Series, recognizing a true miracle, the respective leaders of each clan signed the Hart Street Treaty, effectively ending their bitter battles once and for all. Not only did the Treaty stipulate the end of the bloody turf war that was tearing Bushwick apart, but it contained a special clause, the Coco Lopez Bambino Clause. A clause so special, it called for the creation of a company which would combine and capitalize on the clubs exquisite and deadly senses of style. Styles of dress so sexy they were known to lure Mamasitas, Hoochie Mamas and Rock Goddesses from all 5 boroughs. The Company would become a blend of young versus old, sex versus love, death versus life, and riding really fast bikes versus working.
And so began I.C.R. vs. Deth Killers of Bushwick. so that their clubs, their families, and all of Bushwick, may benefit and prosper for ALL TIME . . .

Goruck - Military-Grade Gear

Here's a bit more info about a great new company, Goruck.

Special Forces sent me to cities, mountains, jungles, and deserts, by day and night, in every condition imaginable throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. I surrounded myself with the best, a standard I grew to expect, and I trusted my teammates, my instincts, and my equipment. We never knew what we might find, so we always came prepared for anything. Throughout it all we worked hard and played hard, sometimes in that order, and I learned an honest way of life that will always be my core, and the core of my company.
GORUCK brings military-grade gear tough enough for Special Forces to adventure seekers the world over, people who demand a lot from their equipment. Tailored to the needs of the individual, by the individual, for the individual, GORUCK gear is built in the USA, leaving the smallest bootprint possible, and always adhering to the highest standards of functionality, durability, and a unique style.
I offer a Lifetime Guarantee on all GORUCK gear, so play hard.
Wherever you’re going, whatever you’re doing, go ready GORUCK.
go·ruck noun [verb go + verb ruck] ruck is a noun short for rucksack (aka backpack), it’s also a verb: to ruck is to move with a rucksack, and implies action, energy, and purpose.

Billy Reid

Billy Reid

William "Billy" Reid grew up in Amite, Louisiana which is just south of the Mississippi line. During this period his mother operated a women’s clothing boutique from his grandmother’s home. He spent his boyhood mostly out of doors while in the company of his father and friends in the Southeast Louisiana wetlands.
He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and later the Art Institute of Dallas where he studied fashion design and merchandising. While there he initiated a career at Saks Fifth Avenue where he was mentored by tailored clothing veterans. From there, Billy had a 6 year stint at Reebok International where he traveled worldwide developing the early stages of the Greg Norman collection. In 1995, he founded his own fashion design and marketing company and worked with a diverse group of clients including Fruit of the Loom, Neiman Marcus, Reebok and Takashimaya.
Billy Reid launched his first collection in spring of 1998. Industry took note of his low-fi Southern-bred luxury as defining the collection's difference. In 2001, Billy received the prestigious CFDA Perry Ellis award. With momentum in his favor, expectations were optimistic; however, the tragedies on 9/11 would bring upon a very harsh reality that would force him to shutter his business in spring of 2002, resulting in leaving New York to settle back South in Florence, Alabama attempting to regroup.
After struggling to bring back his collection, a group of friends approached Billy in 2004 with the idea to consider a new business model. Essentially, the idea was to build shops for the collection that would reflect his personality and his aesthetic. Steeped with antiques, family heirlooms and reclaimed architectural materials, the shops take on a very personal, warm and hospitable environment.

In fall of 2008, a flagship shop on Bond Street in New York City opened to great reviews and was voted Best Men's Store by New York Magazine. Additional shops include Nashville, Charleston, Dallas, Charlotte and Houston.

Edun

EDUN

EDUN's mission is to create beautiful clothing while fostering sustainable employment in developing economies, particulary in sub-Saharan Africa. We work on a micro-level to help build the skill sets of factories where the clothes are produced. EDUN is currently produced in India, Peru, Tunisia, Kenya, Uganda, Lesotho, Tanzania, Mauritius and Madagascar.

In addition, EDUN acts as a voice encouraging the fashion community to do business in Africa and thereby help bring the continent out of extreme poverty. In 1980, Africa had 6% share of the world trade. By 2002, this had dropped to just 2% despite Africa having 12% of the world’s population. If Africa could regain just an additional 1% share of global trade, it would earn $70 billion more in exports each year. This is several times more than what the region currently receives in international assistance.

While EDUN's primary focus is trade, we are also working towards using more organic materials in the collection. Organic cotton is not only a responsible environmental solution, but also provides healthier working conditions and is a valuable market opportunity for farmers in Africa.

Imogene + Willie

Imogene + Willie

imogene + willie is an unseen retail concept. It is a mix of product design, product execution, and product distribution... all in one retro-fitted gas station. It is like an artisan bakery for premium apparel.

Jeans, dresses and t-shirts are the core. They are all conceived in the shop, then designed, produced and sold in the shop. Of course, there are other beautiful things like vintage cowboy boots from Nashville and hamam towels from Turkey and tantalizing perfumes from France and hand dyed scarves from India. But the core remains the same. The best premium denim and lifestyle products in the world, produced and customized right in front of your eyes. The husband and wife team of Matt and Carrie Eddmenson are the creative proprietors. They are artists. They are designers. They are sewers. They are shop keepers. They live in the attic. They meet you at the open garage door and tell you the story behind every interesting piece. They make you feel like you have already worn the jean or shirt all your life, and then you realize that you will.

Palladium Boots

Palladium Boots

Palladium was founded in 1920 to make tires for the fledgling aviation industry. Tires were made by layering canvas bands underneath vulcanized rubber. Palladium’s expertise was so advanced that soon the majority of Europe’s aircraft were using Palladium tires.

After World War II, with aircraft manufacturing screeching to a halt, the demand for tires decreased dramatically. Palladium decided to open a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France, to start producing footwear that was as hard wearing as their tires. In 1947 the legendary Pampa boot was born, and the functionality, comfort and durability were so outstanding that the French Foreign Legion adopted it for their use. The Foreign Legion put the boot to the test in the harsh desert conditions of North Africa, and throughout the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains.

Today, the original design, classic lines and time tested utility are as relevant as they have ever been. Combining over 60 years of authenticity with modern manufacturing, premium materials and cutting edge styling, Palladium boots are ready to help you explore your street, your city, or the world.

Belstaff

In 1924, Harry Grosberg founded Belstaff in Victoria Place, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire in the English Midlands. The original product line consisted of waterproof garments for men and women.
For the company logo a portrait of a Phoenix rising up was chosen as a symbol of the continuity through the times in the good and bad fate.
At about this time Belstaff became the first company in the world to use a fabric that was totally waterproof but breathable, the now famous "Wax Cotton". This was a very fine Egyptian cotton treated with natural oils, making it waterproof while leaving the cotton's excellent breathability characteristics unimpaired. With this mater, Belstaff specialized in the creation of high technology wear for the protection of the motorcyclist.

The Frye Company

Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a prominent English shoemaker, The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Mr. Frye ran the business for nearly fifty years and after his death in 1911, his family continued to run the company until 1945.
Frye's footwear has a long and illustrious history... Frye boots were worn by Union and Confederate soldiers during America's Civil War, as well as by soldiers in the Spanish-American War including Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When homesteading sparked adventurous New England families to go West in the mid and late 1800s, many of these pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey.
The Frye brand remains true to it's heritage and vintage American roots with finely crafted, fashionable boot, shoe, and handbag designs featuring rich leathers and quality hardware.
